CORE Education is a not for profit educational research, development and implementation organisation in New Zealand. CORE aims to provide educators with the quality professional learning opportunity in an online context. Centre4 acts as the portal to this e-learning world and you are welcome to explore it in the areas that interest you. While many communities are open to the wider public, some areas have restricted access for project participants. Their purposes are indicated below.

You will also find a wide range of online conferences and seminars which are both current and archived. We welcome you to participate with us in extending the effective use of learning communities across the wider educational community.

About Centre4

CORE Education's Centre4 online communities were established to enable a greater degree of connectivity between a number of New Zealand educational communities. Each online area is a Centre4 communication, interaction, collaboration, resources, and discourse around professional learning.

Centre4 is hosted by the Interact virtual learning environment. Interact is an open source learning community platform which is used by schools and learning communities in New Zealand and overseas.

Read on for more information on Centre4 opportunities, conditions of use, and the single login solution.

Centre4 offers:

  • Communities
Join existing communities or create new ones where you can use the Interact online tools such as discussion forums, resource uploading, and web page publishing.

These communities can have open or closed membership depending upon their purpose. As they are created within Centre4, it is simple for someone with an existing Centre4 account to participate.
  • Blogs
In a blog, individuals can publish comments and web links in an easy-to-use reverse-chronological format. Blogs usually contain links, news, information, and opinion about specific subject.

  • News, calendars, and notices
Tell others about what you are doing in your community and invite them to join you!

Centre4 conditions of use

Individuals can access the communities within Centre4 through a single user account (login).
